Cherry Entry Cabinet
I made the following entry cabinet with
the initial intention of putting a granite top to match the countertops
we were considering for our kitchen. After further consideration,
we also decided to re-do the kitchen cabinets, so I decided to finish
this piece with a cherry top. The top I found has a wonderfully
quilted figure in the wood. This piece was entirely my own
design; I drew the initial plans using Turbo-CAD. I found the 3D
feature to be invaluable. This project require approximately 2
years of weekends to complete. It was my first foray into raised
panel doors on the shaper, so I had to spend some time making some
prototypes and learning before I could get the quality I wanted.
The interior of the piece is lined with cedar.
